Professional experience

Graham is an executive coach and consultant focusing on leadership development, team performance, and strategic planning of business. He challenges leaders and organisations to think differently about how they engage and develop their people, and how they shape their organisational culture for greater success. His style is personal, practical and result oriented.

Graham brings a broad range of life and work experience to his professional role. As an electrical engineer, he gained experience in project management, strategic planning and supervision of diverse teams. With a career change to community services, he served as National Training Manager for the organisation. In this role he gained a solid background in leadership development, adult learning principles and coaching key organisational leaders.

Executive coaching engagements have included managers in Westpac, Suncorp, Queensland Health, Crowe Horwath, James Hardie and Apollo Motor Homes. Typical coaching assignments may include leadership development; strategic planning of business; building teams; improving staff engagement; transforming conflicted teams; implementing performance feedback and effective communication. Specific examples include:

  • Coaching Director/CFO of national AV production company for personal development, enhanced team performance and improved strategic influencing.
  • Coaching Executive Manager of leading bank for improved executive communication skills, developing the team of managers and focusing strategic priorities.

Graham’s approach to coaching is based on an environment of high trust, where the leader is empowered to reflect deeply, see complexity in new ways and build on their strengths to achieve their personal and professional goals. He is able to draw on validated behavioural change tools and processes to ensure the leader is set up to succeed.

Graham also has broad experience facilitating training for leaders and teams. He delivers a range of programs within Qld Health and Crown Law including specialisation in equipping leaders to develop positive outcomes from conflict. Graham has also facilitated strategic planning programs with business, health services, schools and university academics.

Qualifications and Affiliations

Graham has recently completed a comprehensive research study of executive coaching effectiveness to fulfil the requirements of Master of Business at QUT. Graham has a Master of Education (Adult Education and Training); and a Bachelor of Engineering. Graham has a Master Coach Certificate from the Behavioural Coaching Institute and provides specialised coaching services for Australian Institute of Management. He holds accreditations with DiSC, Team Management Systems and Full Circle Feedback (360) and is a member of the Institute of Learning Practitioners. Graham is also a Justice of the Peace.
